Asian Pepper and Onion Steak Recipe

Asian Pepper and Onion Steak. This is an easy meal to make if you love Asian takeout food. Seared tender steak. Crisp glazed veggies. And steamed rice. Salty. Sweet. Delicious.

I took a piece of a ribeye and cut into small pieces.

I took some veggies from the fridge and cut them into strips (julienned).

2 bell peppers. 1 medium onion. 1 strip of ginger. 1 large portabella mushroom cap.

Seared the steak in a pan. Took it out and added the veggies in the same pan to get the flavor from the bottom of the pan (fond). Put everything back in and added the sauce to cook for a few minutes until nice and glazed.
While I was doing that I had the rice steaming in the rice pot. I served the saucy meat over the rice and garnished with some sesame seeds and scallion.

Furikake is a rice seasoning mix of sesame seeds, dry seaweed, and spices. The sauce recipe is below. All this yields about 4-6 servings. (Depending on how hungry you are)

Once the veggies are sautéed. Add the cooked steak and mix together. In a separate bowl add the sauces and whisk together. Slowly add the mixture of sauce to the hot food stirring as it slowly glazes the meat and thickens.
After, serve over steamed rice and garnish with toasted sesame seeds.

1 cup of low sodium soy sauce
1/2 cup Rice Vinegar
2 Tbl Sesame Oil
1/2 cup Brown Sugar
1 tsp Ground Ginger
2 Tbl Corn Starch
